What is self-testing?
Self-testing is a quick and easy way to find out your HIV status, using a test intended for personal use at home, without the help of a health professional.
How long does the self-test process take?
Home test kits are designed to be easy to use. It takes about 5 minutes to complete the self-test procedure and another 15 minutes to wait for the results to be read.
Where can I get a home test?
The test for home use is registered with the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia, but is not available in retail at the time of writing. When it appears, we will announce it on our website and social networks. Buying unregistered tests online is illegal and such tests may not meet high standards for accuracy of results.
How reliable is the self-test?
The test registered in Serbia is very accurate. However, you must follow the instructions carefully and respect the 3-month window period in order to get an accurate result. If the test shows that you have HIV, you need to take confirmatory tests.
